Today, Kim shares her experience with a recipe intended to ease the strain of entertaining and leave time for more important matters, like gaining votes for women.
I continue to love the lilting repartee between Kim and Leigh (both of you have great, bright podcast voices and infectious laughs, BTW). You brighten up my day each time you post.
Memories of growing up on the farm using a wood stove for cooking…mom made everything on that stove, even lefse , Leigh….no griddle.
Not food… but I I remember heating the iron on the wood stove…we had two irons so we could use one and heat the second! Can’t remember how long the heated iron would last….one item?
when we got electricity we got a new GE stove where we could set the timer and dinner would be ready when we returned from church
It's so easy to take our modern conveniences for granted. And hard to believe that my grandmas cooked over wood fueled and coal fueled stoves. I love the memory of heating two irons just to get through the ironing. Grandma had to be thrilled when she got her new electric stove.
Omgosh…I remember vividly, how excited we ALL were with the new stove. It sat right next to the wood stove 😊😊. Needed that for heat. The “good old days”
Enjoyed the podcast episode this morning. Equally enjoy the written version as well, love the photos!
Thank you Allison. It really makes our day to hear that the episodes have touched our listeners in some way.
